PROJECT CO-FINANCED BY THE 2021-2027 ERDF PROGRAM OF THE AUTONOMOUS PROVINCE OF TRENTO
ERDF NOTICE 2/2022 – INVESTMENTS IN PHOTOVOLTAIC INSTALLATIONS
CO-FINANCED AMOUNT € 47,127.90

Project description

The construction of a photovoltaic system in the Lincotek Medical plants in Trento has been co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The project is aimed at increasing the production of energy from renewable sources for manufacturing activities.

The ERDF is one of the main financial instruments of EU cohesion policy, which aims to help bridge the gaps between the different levels of development of European regions. Specifically, this investment is aimed at promoting renewable energies and, as a priority, at self-sufficiency of the local unit of the company. A secondary goal is the sharing of renewable electricity produced by groups acting collectively (community renewable energy).

The projects financed in this way are also part of the activity of the Autonomous Province of Trento to support sustainability in the Alps. They promote energy efficiency and sustainable production of renewable energy within the EUSALP strategy (Macro-regional strategy for the Alpine region). In fact, the Alpine territories constitute a unique naturalistic and environmental heritage, to be preserved and protected in respect of any potential effect of ongoing climate change.

Results

The main expected results are a reduction of energy consumption, an increase in the share of renewable energies in total consumption and the reduction of climate-altering gas emissions for a resilient, greener and low-carbon Italy and Europe.

The project consists of the installation of two photovoltaic systems – respectively of 92 kW and 43 kW – in two different Lincotek plants, both in Pergine, Trento.
The estimated annual production for the first system is approximately 121,000 kWh, equivalent to preventing 40 tons of CO2 being released into the atmosphere, while for the second, it is approximately 56,000 kWh – equivalent to preventing 18 tons of CO2 being released into the atmosphere.

Photovo
ltaic technology plays just one part in the green transition of Lincotek Medical in Trento and integrates with a policy of energy efficiency, waste limitation, heat recovery and electric mobility.

Particular attention has also been given to respect for the environment, with a view to eco-sustainable development, aimed at minimizing the environmental impact of production. We are also on track to achieve ISO 14001 Certification, reflecting a solid environmental management system.
